The form of the house encompasses contemporary geometric forms with clean, simple lines accentuating both horizontal and vertical elements. The material palette will contrast solid elements such as the bench seats, chimney and island bench with lightweight cladding that will seek to reference the coastal character and charm of Suffolk Park as well as acting as a contemporary interpretation of the ‘no-fuss’ beach shack. The long solid bench seat characteristic of the dining areas is carried through to the downstairs bedrooms, which both have windows that can be slide away and spaces that can bleed into the outdoors. These perches could act as the ideal spot for story time, resting in the winter sun or even the perfect raised platform for a dog to nap.
