At Seven Mile Architects, we are specialist in the field of architecture. Within our practice, we place great value on our client relationships and experience. Design Methodology
Meet
Enjoy an obligation-free meet and greet with the Seven Mile Architects team. This provides the client with the opportunity to introduce their brief and discuss the possibilities that the home or site enjoys.
Concept Design
We understand that every client is individual and has unique needs and expectations. One of the most important steps in the project is to listen closely to the project brief, establish and clarify the needs and expectations of the client and then use our expertise to translate these into architecture. Concept design is the first stage in the translation of the brief and the stage at which the client will understand planning, form, and materiality.
Design Development
We are your partner in the project and through collaborative discussions, the project will become refined using visual aids such as drawings, 3D views and material boards.
Development Applications
This stage sees that the design is documented with the appropriate level of detail to obtain planning permission from the Council. We work with a range of consultants such as surveyors, town planners, engineers, bush fire consultants and environmental consultants to ensure that the design response is coordinated and well-considered.
Construction Documentation
The architecture, interiors and site response are detailed during the construction documentation phase to provide builders with the information required to cost and complete the project.
Project Management
This stage sees the collaborative act to continue through the construction process involving the client, builder, and the architect. We will manage communication with the builder, oversee invoices and conduct site visits to ensure that the project runs smoothly and according to expectations.
Celebrate
As the project comes to completion, the hard work can be revered which calls for celebration. The greatest outcome and mark of success for a project, is to discover how the spaces we have designed are being enjoyed.
Environmental responsibility
Our responsibility as architects also extends to challenges surrounding sustainability and the climate crisis. Our design approach centres around creating efficient spaces that employ passive design principles to ensure a comfortable environment. We believe that architecture should be robust and provide a long-lasting solution appropriate and sensitive to the context.
Social Awareness
Seven Mile understands that secure housing is a privilege that not everyone in our community has.
We are proud to support the work of The Good Box, a social enterprise who distribute gift boxes to people experiencing homelessness. Their mission is to foster communication and connection in an effort to remove the stigma around homelessness.
Seven Mile subscribes to their box donation program.
